Africa-Press – Uganda. In a heartwarming display of community support and philanthropy, the Managing Director of Salam TV and Salam Charity, Hajji Karim Kaliisa, along with his team, has visited Masjid Salam Alkhuleify in Lwannyonyi, Mukono. The visit highlighted the organization’s ongoing efforts to provide essential services to the local community, including Muslims and non-Muslims alike.
One of the key projects underway at Masjid Salam Alkhuleify is the construction of a clean water source, generously donated by the Kassim Mugulumas family from the UK as a sadaqah (charitable donation) in memory of their late father. This initiative is expected to benefit the community for years to come, providing residents with a reliable source of clean water.
According to Hajji Karim Kaliisa, Salam Charity and its partners have been instrumental in developing Masjid Salam Alkhuleify into a training hub for Imams and new converts in the Mukono district. The organization has already made significant strides in establishing the necessary infrastructure, including a custodian house, modern toilets, and a clean water source.
However, the project is not yet complete. Salam Charity is now calling on well-wishers to join hands in constructing a classroom block at Masjid Salam Alkhuleify. This final phase will enable the mosque to function as a fully-fledged training center, providing a conducive environment for Islamic education and community development.
“We are grateful for the support of the Kassim Mugulumas family and other partners who have made this project possible,” said Hajji Karim Kaliisa. “We now need the help of the community and well-wishers to complete the classroom block and unlock the full potential of Masjid Salam Alkhuleify as a center for Islamic learning and community growth.”
The construction of the classroom block will not only enhance the mosque’s capacity to train Imams and new converts but also provide a space for community gatherings, workshops, and other educational activities.
Salam Charity’s efforts in Lwannyonyi, Mukono, are a testament to the organization’s commitment to promoting Islamic education, community development, and social welfare. By working together with local communities and international partners, Salam Charity aims to make a lasting impact on the lives of individuals and communities across Uganda.
