Africa-Press – Uganda. Kira Municipality MP and interim spokesperson People’s Front for Freedom PFF Ibrahim Semujju Nganda, has declared his intention to seek re-election as he picked expression of interest forms from his party, launching a spirited call to end President Museveni’s four-decade rule.
Addressing his supporters after receiving the forms, Semujju stated, “I came here to pick expression of interest forms to continue the work we are doing in Parliament.” He emphasised that his bid is not just about Kira, but a broader national mission to challenge the status quo.
Semujju, who currently serves as the Shadow Minister of Finance, cited the plight of Uganda’s youth as a major reason for his continued political engagement.
“Kira has a population of 459,000 people, and 150,000 are youth.
Uganda under Museveni has only exported these youths to go and work as maids and security guards in the Middle East.
Semujju also thanked his party for entrusting him with the nomination forms and pledged to dedicate himself to grassroots mobilisation: “I’m ready to be deployed to move from village to village to remove a 40-year leadership.”
To the people of Kira, Semujju assured them of his unwavering commitment: “You have the best candidate,” he declared.
He also revealed that he recently visited Dr. Kizza Besigye, who remains in prison, and conveyed his greetings to Ugandans. According to Semujju, Besigye urged citizens to keep up the struggle for change.
