Africa-Press – Uganda. Ssaabalangira of Buganda Kingdom Godfrey Musanje Kikulwe Ngobe is being laid to rest at his ancestral home in Kasawo, Kyaggwe, following his passing earlier this week.
Kabaka of Buganda Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II guided and directed members of the royal clan of princes on the burial arrangements of the late Ssaabalangira, emphasising unity, dignity and respect as the Kingdom prepares to accord him a befitting send-off.
In accordance with Buganda cultural customs, the Kabaka, who now assumes the role of Ssaabalangira, also contributed two cows to support the burial preparations, underscoring the Kingdom’s respect for the deceased senior prince.
Ssaabalangira Musanje passed away on Tuesday after battling pneumonia for a period of time, according to family sources.
At the time of his death, Ssaabalangira Musanje was serving as the head of the Olulyo Olulangira, a highly respected position charged with guiding princes within the Kingdom and safeguarding royal lineage values and traditions.
His burial in Kasawo, Kyaggwe, marks the final farewell to one of Buganda’s senior royal figures, as the Kingdom continues to mourn his passing.
