Africa-Press – Uganda. On Tuesday, July 1st, 2025, the vibrant neighborhood of Lubowa pulsated with energy as the Rotary family converged for a spectacular Action Year launch. The setting was outside the usual meeting room with freshness and a welcoming ambiance that promised a great evening. The stars aligned perfectly, with the Action Year’s start date coinciding with the Rotary Club of Lubowa’s meeting day. One guest quipped that RC Lubowa had ‘bribed’ to bring about this coincidence. The anticipation was palpable, and the excitement was contagious!
A Night to Remember
PDG Ken Wycliffe Mugisha took center stage, sharing inspiring tips on kick-starting the year with purpose and passion. She highlighted the various causes that Rotary has championed globally and in Uganda. Immunization against Polio. Fight against Malaria. The fight against Cancer. The Mengo Rotary Blood bank and so many others within the 7 areas of focus. The IPP, Rhona, fresh from her award-winning tenure, handed over the reins to her successor, amidst thunderous applause. The room was abuzz with Rotarians and guests, all eager to embark on this new journey together.
Launches Galore
The highlight of the evening was PDG Ken’s launch of not one, not two, but three exciting initiatives! The Rotary Club Bunamwaya In-formation, the club bulletin- The Eagle Magazine, and the club’s cutting-edge digital platform, the G7 Bill- all unveiled to thunderous cheers. The audience went wild as a stunning cake was presented, and the dance floor erupted into a whirlwind of color and music when the Sikulimba band played.
Discovering New Talents
As the night wore on, hidden talents emerged, and members and guests showed off their best moves. The digital platform, aptly named the G7 bill, ensured that everyone received a seamless report of their attendance and hours spent at the function.
The Night that Never Ends
The festivities continued into the wee hours of July 2nd, with laughter, music, and camaraderie filling the air. It was a night that would be etched in the memories of all who attended, a testament to fellowship, the power of community and fun in Rotary service.
