Africa-Press – Uganda. Uganda Cranes co-coach Morley Byekwaso has officially confirmed Uganda’s final squad for the upcoming TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2024.

With preparations complete, the Cranes are gearing up for what will be their seventh appearance at the continental tournament.

Midfield playmaker Allan Okello has been entrusted with the captain’s armband and will lead the team throughout the competition.

He will be supported in leadership duties by goalkeeper Joel Mutakubwa and defender Rogers Ochaki Torach, who have been named vice-captains.

The final squad features 25 locally-based players, broken down into three goalkeepers, eight defenders, seven midfielders, and seven forwards.

The team blends experience and youth from top Ugandan Premier League sides such as KCCA FC, Vipers SC, SC Villa, and BUL FC.

Uganda earned automatic qualification for CHAN 2025 as one of the tournament co-hosts, alongside Kenya and Tanzania.
