Africa-Press – Uganda. Some of the biggest names in Uganda’s music video industry have come together to create an opportunity for the next generation of filmmakers!

Marvin Musoke, Aaronaire On Set, Edrine Paul, and Simon SPK, all renowned for their incredible work, have launched the Frame The Beat Music Video Workshop.

This game-changing initiative aims to groom aspiring creatives in the field of music video production.

With over five years of combined experience and more than 100 music videos that have amassed over 5 million views, these directors have been instrumental in shaping the visual identity of Uganda’s music industry.

They are giving back through Frame The Beat.

In this five-day intensive workshop, participants will gain hands-on experience and work on an actual music video for the celebrated Ugandan group B2C.

The workshop set to run between February 17 and 21 2025 will be held at Cams & Grip Film Studios, Busabala for shs 100,000 per day.

Organisers said they plan to expand regionally.

The Ugandan music industry has experienced significant growth in recent years, but many aspiring filmmakers struggle to break into the scene.

The program is offering hands-on training from industry professionals, elevating production quality with professional skills and techniques, building a network of creatives for future collaborations and making filmmaking accessible to young talent, including those from remote areas.

With the workshop, the team aims to create a lasting impact by expanding regionally to ensure young creatives across Uganda have access, providing mentorship even after the workshop and setting new standards for Ugandan music videos and pushing the industry to a global level.

“ This isn’t just a theory class attendees will dive deep into all aspects of creating a great music video,” organisers said.

The workshop will help participants understanding what makes music videos stand out.

It will also tackle pre-production which includes concept development, scriptwriting, budgeting, and crew management but also include technical training in form of camera work, lighting, sound design, and set creation.

The workshop will also include production including directing, working with performers, and on-set problem-solving; post-production which encompasses editing, color grading, effects, and finalizing content for digital platforms. –

The workshop will also look at industry insights including how to market your work, build a portfolio, and succeed in the business.
