The minister of works Gen. Katumba Wamala has mourned Ali Kirunda Kivejinja saying his demise has robbed the nation of a person of high integrity.
Katumba who led a delegation of officials to Toulouse to receive the first Uganda Airlines Airbus A330neo described Kivejinja as a nationalist, Pan-Africanist, and an encyclopedia of Uganda’s political history.
Kivenjinja passed away on Saturday after a lengthy battle with COVID-19.
Speaking from the Crowne Plaza Toulouse in the city center, Katumba said cabinet will miss Kivejinja’s wise counsel.
“We will miss his wise counsel in cabinet at other forums. He was a cradle of knowledge and he unreservedly shared it with whoever wanted to learn,” Katumba said.
He added that the National Resistance Movement had lost a father who was always for the peaceful settlement of differences and an advocate of building strong institutions.
“As a ministry, we shall greatly miss his support on most of our projects like the revival of the national airline, the railways cooperation among others,” Katumba said.
