Africa-Press – Zambia. The government has been implored to unfreeze more than 4000 teaching posts. The United Teachers Union of Zambia (UNITUZ) says the government should promote teachers with higher qualifications to appropriate scales.
UNITUZ Executive President Paul Chipimo says promotion of teachers with higher qualifications will be a source of inspiration for educators to upgrade themselves.
Few years ago, the government froze over 5000 posts in the Ministry of education due to inefficiencies in the human resources department. Since then, there has been promises to unfreeze them in order to absorb those who have been trained.
