Africa-Press – Zambia. Finally finished reading Dora’s world thus far. What a book and somehow every chapter intersects into my own life in one way or another. She gave me a glimpse of why the PF dropped the ball towards the 2021 elections and hence the big loss.
Effectively blames ECL and the violent PF cadre that surfaced under his reign. She has zero kind words for her Petauke constituency successor Hon JJ Banda and effectively blames him, Valden Findlay and cadres for ECL & PF’s loss.
Talks well of Davies Mwila as PF SG and with the women cabinet peers that secured her 2021 MP adoption. Reveals advised ECL to get a particular female Minister as his running mate and states that even if it was Chitotela or Chitalu Chilufya that were topping his list for RMs, he would have still lost.
I reserve my comments here but to state that maybe he should have been the RM himself to any of the listed. She has hardly recovered from the loss of her beloved father years back.
As in my case; the widow dear mother remain her emotional pillar. We both find inner peace and love in our children and more little ones in her case Paul the grandson.
My 1 year old Mailaika ‘marshes my heart ‘ to borrow her praise. She mentions in good light in her book a Lusaka businessman Bokani Soko. He may have been her advisor here and there.
She mentions and refers several times in the book to her tone, a long time all weather mentor based in SA, one James Ndambo. I actually also have had a similar time immemorial mentor and happens to be a white Zambian.
There is a number of apolitical (non partisan) eminent people from the private sector that hate no Zambian especially across party lines and only wish a functional flourishing Zambia to better all Zambians.
She talks respectfully of her failed marriage and thereon was not so open of her personal love life after that. She hints on a number possible relationships she may have had and calls one that may have actually been a public secret as an ‘entanglement’ lol.
Enjoys cooking and a glass or two of red wine or utwalekanalekana in ABC’s voice for good French or South Africa Wine. Fears God and get on with virtually everyone that care to.
Rubbed shoulders with about almost all past President and got consulted for advice by RB & ECL. Highly ambitious and goal driven amidst adversities is the reason that every youth should read this book to get inspiration.
Dora mentions me twice in the books firstly in reference to having been a top contenders with ECL after Sata died in 2014. She actually called me in the period and spoke for about 40 minutes on why I needed to step down for ECL.
He is older, chosen by Sata (boza), taller, wiser bluh bluh. Then I took it as the usual’s near cult Wako ni Wako syndrome of the Easterners especially if competing with a Northerner.
So I ignored her forceful advice. Except one Paramount Chief Mpezeni, about all Easterners had rejected Sata of the then opposition pre 2011 PF in preference for the Wako ni Wako pioneer RB.
They only came to hijack Sata and his party PF after he won. They then showed up to cry the loudest when he died and appointed themselves Chairpersons of his isambo lyamfwa meeting (deceased clothes sharing & inheritance meeting).
Apa (now) just because it’s Miles Sampa that is the bonafide elected PF President, they are up in arms ati ‘give back PF kulimwine Edgar. He is the rightful owner’. What happened to the resignation letter ai.
Then as if political parties are like chiwaya (blazier roasted maize grains) and can simply be gifted or given to another person by proclamation or raise of hands and not by voting via an extra ordinary general conference like we did.
Ala! How they have conveniently and quickly forgotten that it’s them that refused to vote for him (& what they now referring to ‘his PF’) in 2021 and offloaded their votes in unison to HH.
So they can be non tribal after all. What a one sided amoaba chimbuya ‘cousinship’ of Northerners & Easterners. They like to ‘eat masuku pa muntu’ (selfish trickery conduct) on Northerners.
No wonder we are now happily cheating on them with our new traditional cousins ba ‘ki masholi’ lol. Dora is clearly now not pro ECL (nor me/PF) despite having roots possibly from the same village soils of Petauke.
She may actually now be pro HH in ny personal opinion. Would not be surprised one day waking up to an ‘alliance partner’ welcoming ceremony for her. Second mention of my name in her book is towards the last chapters when apparently we met in 2020 at the Government complex for the evening ‘Black Dollar’ movie premier.
She states found me in the VIP holding room with ‘.. his lovely wife Chimuka’. Lol. Dear my Sis Dora, my wife’s name is not Chimuka but Nchimunya. Si Chimodzi modzi yayi.
It’s like transposing Tikambenji with Tilyenji. Good write up Dora and indeed your career is far from over as you concluded. You may have just started.
Let’s see what 2026 brings for you and Zambia. You have inspired me to one day also tell my own story (my version & coated with false narratives) and indeed I have quite a lot to tell this far.
