Battle for PF Presidency, Kambwili warns the party may break

Africa-Press – Zambia. Chishimba Kambwili warns the party will be divided if the filing of nominations closes five months before the congress. Kambwili who is one of the candidates on the race to succeed Edgar Lungu says the PF must consider postponeding the close of nominations.

In a live broadcast on his Facebook page today monitored by Zambian Eye, Kambwili said at most the nomination must be opened and closed a month before voting not to prolong campaign time.

Kambwili said short time to campaign gives an opportunity to the Leader who gets elected to reconcile the members. He said the five months proposed by the PF Central Committee risks breaking the party.

Kambwili explained that though he is part of the Central Committee he failed duty bound to advise the party and warn the consequences that lie ahead. He said he has even failed to travel to Mkushi to campaign as nominations close on October 28. He said if the party does not hide to his advice he will go ahead and file his nominations.
