Africa-Press – Zambia. The Federation of Free Trade Unions in Zambia –FFTUZ- says the channeling back of proceeds of crime seized by government investigative wings into the economy gives confidence to the general public.
FFTUZ President Chingati Musiska has however reminded government that the general public wants to see to what extent it will go in the fight against corruption hence the need to enhance the fight against the vice.
In an interview with Phoenix News, Mr. Musiska notes that corruption has limited the country’s economic growth and that channeling back in Zambians what was stolen from them will discourage many from involving themselves in this act.
Mr. Musiska was reacting to the handing over of money believed to be proceeds of crime by the Anti-Corruption Commission to government amounting to K65 million and over US$57,000 yesterday seized in September last year from Faith Musonda and was forfeited to the state.
