Africa-Press – Zambia. IN AN attempt to get rich quickly, a 32-year-old villager of Nsama district in Northern Province tried to sell his four-year-old daughter in Mpulungu at K130,000.
Unfortunately for Kalumba Chipili, of Nsumbu village, he was unsuccessful. He has since been arrested for human trafficking after attempting to sell his daughter on Monday around 16:50 hours at a certain guest house in Mpulungu.
It is alleged that the suspect was informed by an unknown person that there was a man buying children in the area. Upon hearing this, he tricked his former wife that he wanted to start staying with his daughter. Before the matter was concluded with his ex-wife, he sneaked away with the child and called an officer from Community Crime Prevention Unit.
