Africa-PressZambia. LUSAKA City Council (LCC) under the department of Public Health has opened an alternative office for the collection of burial permits at the funerals registry at the Civic Center.

Council public relations manager Mwaka Nakweti said the move has been done in a bid to decongest the burial permits office at the University Teaching Hospital (UTH). She said the office will be open from 08:00 hours to 17:00 hours during weekdays and 08:00 hours to 13:00 hours on Saturdays and Sundays.

“We therefore urge members of the public to make use of this office so that they can be served efficiently. Members of the public collecting burial permits are reminded to carry the original National Registration Card or Id of the deceased, BID certificate if the deceased died from home or in a road traffic accident, Medical Certificate of cause of death from a health facility and a copy of the informants National Registration card,” Ms Nakweti said.
