Africa-Press – Zambia. IT is hypocritical for the UPND administration to suggest that the country’s economy collapsed during the seven-year rule of President Edgar Lungu when they know too well that it was the decision to privatise state-owned companies that crippled the economy.

This is according to the Citizen Democratic Party leader, Mr Robert Mwanza. Mr. Mwanza said the UPND administration was not being sincere by stating that the seven years of President Lungu’s rule was the sole cause for the economic ills the country is going through.

He said in an interview that if the UPND leadership confines itself to the notion that President Lungu’s administration collapsed the economy then they are not a solution to take the country out of the economic dilemma it was in.

“For as long as the UPND administration confines themselves to the notion that the seven years of President Lungu’s rule are the sole cause for the economic ills the country is going through, then they are not a solution to take the country out of the economic quagmire we are in,” he said.

Mr. Mwanza said the UPND administration should in their quest of finding economic solutions for the country accept that problems the country was in were because of the decision to privatise state-owned companies.
