Africa-Press – Zambia. …being the only surviving former Head of State!
With the death of Zambia’s 4th President, His Excellency Mr. Rupiah Bwezani Banda, the 6th Head of State, His Excellency Dr. Edgar Chagwa Lungu, now assumes the mentoring role of being referred to as the Father of the Nation cutting across partisan politics.
Don’t wait for him to die to recognise the role he has played in ensuring that Zambia reaches where it is today from the social economic development perspective. They say Rome was not built in a day.
Our diminishing levels of tolerance for divergent political views suggest that what we need in Zambia is not a Western crafted political system but a home bred governance system that must prioritize development over politics of patronage. May the souls of our late Heads of State rest in peace!
