Former First Lady Esther Lungu Questioned

Africa-Press – Zambia. Former first lady Esther Lungu has today appeared before a team of interrogators at the Drug Enforcement Commission -DEC- for questioning in a matter involving 15 flats repossessed by the commission recently in Lusaka’s State Lodge area.

The former first lady in the company of her husband, Edgar Lungu and her lawyers arrived at the DEC offices located in ridgeway area at exactly 11:00hrs to a thunderous welcome from Patriotic Front sympathizers who have turned out in numbers to offer solidarity to the former first family.

And speaking to journalists after the interrogation which lasted for over an hour, Mrs. Lungu’s lawyer Makebi Zulu said his client told the investigators that she acquired the land in 2015 when construction started. Mr. Zulu said the information his client gave the investigators is what they needed in totality.

And the road leading to the Drug Enforcement Commission offices from the Ministry of Finance to Ridgeway Post Office was this morning closed as heavy police presence sealed off scores of supporters from having access to the premises.
