Africa-Press – Zambia. Former Solicitor General MUSA MWENYE has welcomed the move by government to start blacklisting companies that were or are involved in corruption. Mr. MWENYE says the country should not just be punishing public servants involved in corruption but also business people who are involved in the vice.

He says as government does this the due process of the law should be followed. Mr. MWENYE says the Anti Corruption Commission -ACC- should also start exercising its powers under section 8 (1) of the Anti corruption Act which empowers it to make binding recommendations to government.

He told ZNBC News that under the current law the ACC can decide that companies involved in corruption should be blacklisted by procurement authorities.
