Africa-Press – Zambia. IT IS comforting to see young people abandon criminal activities and tobacco smoking to go back to school, Chief Bunda Bunda of the Soli People of Rufunsa District has narrated.
Speaking to The Scoop, the traditional leader explained that young people in his chiefdom had gone wild abusing drugs because most parents could not afford to pays school fees for them.
He said the introduction of free education in public schools has given Beith a whole new crop of youth who are looking forward to be relevant in their various communities.
“My chiefdom had become a hive criminal activities and most young people abused drugs but now I have seen that most of them have gone back to school and crime levels have reduced,” chief Bunda-Bunda has said. He has disclosed that most young people have also formed cooperatives in a bid to acquire funds from the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
