Africa-Press – Zambia. A Lusaka based Gospel artist Dickson Phiri has said all his friends deserted him when he was arrested on allegations of trafficking in Drugs in 2021. Speaking to Ocent Nation, Mr. Phiri says he is thankful that there was no evidence whatsoever linking him to alleged Drugs.
Mr. Phiri says the state failed to find a case for him despite spending 9 months at Kamwala Remind Prisons. He says he is thankful to his wife who stood by his side after all his friends deserted him.
The Drug Enforcement Commission arrested Mr. Phiri and 7 others in 2021 on allegations that they where trafficking in illicit drugs contrary to the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act 35 of 2021 of the Laws of Zambia.
However Mr. Phiri has disclosed that Amon Mutawale pointed at him at theAirport to save his job. He says he was wrongly accused to save jobs of people who could not handle their responsibilities.
Meanwhile Mr. Phiri says it was rough spending nine months at Kamwala remind Prisons on a crime he did not commit. He says sleeping conditions for inmates at Kamwala Prisons is a nightmare.
