Africa-Press – Zambia. Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Minister Mulambo Haimbe says bilateral relations between Zambia and Zimbabwe continue to grow hinged on mutual respect as opposed to speculations that the relationship between the two countries is strained.

Speaking when he featured on Tuesday’s edition of Let The People Talk on Phoenix FM, Mr. Haimbe says Zambia and Zimbabwe are like Siamese twins and that the longstanding relationship that exists between the two can never be taken away despite some challenges.

He acknowledges that Zambia was uncomfortable by the comments made by Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa during his discussions with Russian leader Vladmir Putin but that frameworks have since been put in place to deal with that particular issue.

Mr. Haimbe says the two countries have ongoing discussions from a diplomatic perspective but that the relation continues growing and thriving.

Meanwhile, Mr. Haimbe says the perception that the new dawn administration is biased towards the western world is largely driven by a false narrative which has been proven to be untrue.
