Africa-Press – Zambia. President Hakainde Hichilema has announced that government will in the next budget increase allowances for Chiefs and retainers.
President Hichilema has reiterated that government and traditional leaders are partners in national development.
He also says government will continue taking care of its people through various social protection programmes like Cash for work and social cash transfer.
President Hichilema said this in Katete today during the 2025 Kulamba traditional ceremony of the Chewa people of Zambia, Malawi and Mozambique.
Malawian President Lazarus Chakwela is also in attendance.
