Africa-Press – Zambia. A LATEST report by Centre for Trade Policy and Development (CTPD) has revealed that mindset and behavioural challenges are factors that impede the success of making agriculture a business among small-scale farmers.

The report is dubbed “Making agriculture a business: Study on attitudes and social challenges that influence making agriculture a business (MAB) among small-scale farmers in Central Province”.

The objective of the study was to investigate mindset and behaviour challenges that influence the implementation of making agriculture a business. One of the findings of the study was around cultural and traditional beliefs in agricultural practices.

“Negative cultural beliefs have the potential to frustrate the efforts of some small-scale farmers to work hard as they believe that other farmers use charms or magic to steal their produce.
