Africa-Press – Zambia. We wish to sincerely thank the Catholic Church in Ndola in particular and all Catholics in general for embracing all citizens in praising the Lord, God almighty. This we professed when we joined fellow Christians at St Joseph Cupertino Catholic Church of Ndola today.
We are also greatly indebted to the Parish Priest of St Joseph of Cupertino Catholic Church in Ndola, Fr. Andrew Chewe Mukosa for according us an opportunity to join our brothers and sisters in thanking God for the gift of life. We are so greatly honoured and profoundly appreciative by this gesture.
The Body of Christ is one and as God’s creation, we must always strive to work together including preaching the word of God to the outermost parts of the earth. That’s a fundamental principle of Christianity that we were all commanded to carry out by our Lord.
It is however unfortunate and regrettable that the Police who we are very much aware are being abused by those that have no value for human rights, freedoms and other liberties, attempted to stop us from attending mass and even throw us out of Church on grounds that we did not have a permit to attend a church service.
This is not only fundamentally wrong but it does not also please the Lord, God almighty and must be stopped immediately. We are however thankful to the Church leaders at St Joseph Cupertino for accepting that our rights were being infringed upon by the Police who themselves are abused.
When our time to be in government comes, which is soon, we will not be inconveniencing the church and citizens by such draconian rules that are not only against the rules of natural justice and other civil liberties but against the supreme laws of God Almighty.
We must unite as a people and remember that there is a God above in heaven watching over every human activity, and like Father Mukosa said, let’s not feel shy to talk about bad things happening in our country, because failing to do so would be allowing bad governance, thuggery and corruption to thrive without challenge.
For us, Zambia shall remain a Christian Nation not only in word but in deed too.
May God bless our nation.
