I’m sorry: Salulani apologises after attempting to beat referee

Africa-Press – Zambia. I’m sorry: Salulani apologises after attempting to beat referee ZANACO midfielder Salulani Phiri has apologised for his unwarranted behaviour during Sunday’s Super League Week 22 match against Prison Leopards.

Phiri was sent off in the 41st minute by Chinsali-based referee Chola Chansa for head-butting Isaac Ngoma and later charging at the official in protest of a red card.

He held the referee’s shirt as his team-mates restrained him and Zanaco lost 2-0. “Though it was in the heat of the moment, I should have acted professionally like I have always done in my previous years for this game” He said.
