IMMIGRATION ROUNDS UP 436 IN LUSAKA CLEAN-UP OPERATION

Africa-Press – Zambia. The Department of Immigration, on Sunday, 29th May, 2022 apprehended Two-Hundred and Two (202) persons of different nationalities. This was on the last day of a three (03) day clean-up operation conducted in various parts of Lusaka bringing the number of persons nabbed from 27th to 29th May, 2022 to Four-Hundred and Thirty-Six (436).

After the screening exercise, the Officers released Fifty-Seven (57) persons upon production of proof of legal immigration status in Zambia and mandated Seventy-Two (72) to report to Immigration Headquarters for further investigations. Meanwhile, the Department detained Three Hundred and Thirteen (313) suspected illegal immigrants pending other formalities.
