Africa-Press – Zambia. POLICE in kitwe have arrested a 42 year old man of Chantete for allegedly raping and murdering his biological sister. Jackson Chipoya allegedly raped and killed his sister Phillis chipoya 46 of the same area on Friday night.
Copperbelt commissioner of Police Ellias Chushi told Mwebantu in statement that the suspect was arrested at the scene after confessing to raping and killing his biological sister.
Mr Chushi said when police rushed to the scene after a tip off from John chibesa 52 a resident of the same area, they found the body of the deceased Phillis lifeless with no injuries. Mr Chushi said the suspect is in police custody and the body has been taken to kitwe teaching hospital.
“Brief facts are that on on Friday night, as Kennedy Chalwe 21 was coming from visiting a relative, he heard people ahead of him talking, and appeared drunk. When he reached close he saw Jackson Chipoya raping his biological sister namely Philis Chipoya who was shouting for help.
Upon seeing this, he went to inform the husband to the deceased Jonathan Kambanjala about the incident. They both rushed to the scene but found the lifeless body laying on the ground facing upward,” he said.
