LCC REMOVES 35 BOOTHS ILLEGALLY PLACED AROUND CIVIC CENTRE

Africa-Press – Zambia. A team of Lusaka City Council Police this morning swung into action and removed 35 booths illegally erected around the Civic Center area. The booths were uprooted because they were planted illegally and without the planning permission of the Local Authority.

The said booths were illegally and wrongly placed, thereby obstructing motorists and littering the area. The local authority has been for too long appealing to residents intending to set booths in the city to always seek permission from the Council in order for them to be guided properly.

We have noted with deep regret that some booth operators still want to continue placing booths in areas of their own desire disregarding the Council’s plan.

The Local Authority therefore, wishes to warn that booths that have been placed illegally will not only be uprooted but will also be confiscated by the Council and owners be prosecuted.
