Africa-Press – Zambia. Edgar Lungu’s quitness is fueling talk that he is the one behind the confusion in PF, says ex-chairlady in the dissolved Lusaka provincial PF committee Charity Banda.
Speaking with Daily Revelation, Banda said whether Miles Sampa was being used or not as being asserted by some people, she saw sense in what he was doing, saying his actions were helping to undo the work of “the cartel, clique” that has been working hard not to hold a party convention because of hidden interests of the people involved.
She said there was no way the party could have asked for presidential aspirants to pay K200,000 and thereafter start dillydallying and wasting time that they first needed to address some constitutional matters as they felt that would bar certain candidates.
Banda said she knew Miles from his time working for Finance Bank when the PF was just a small party and he was one of its key members, as opposed to some who were shouting on top of the voices now, “bamushanina bwali” who joined when the party’s prospects appreciated.
She demanded that the K200,000s presidential candidates paid must be refunded if there was no interest in holding the convention, and wondered why former president Lungu was conspicuously quiet while all this confusion is happening.
“Let’s stop this nonsense. Where is Edgar Lungu, our father of the party? Balepanga umufulo ati tufilile munsenga. It’s the same umufulo that is fueling talk that he is behind the confusion,” said Banda.
