Africa-Press – Zambia. Zambia Super League side, ZESCO United has reappointed George Lwandamina as head coach as earlier reported by the ZamFoot Crew. The former Chipolopolo boss has penned a three-year deal with the Ndola-based outfit.

The club confirmed the appointment in a statement accessed by the ZamFoot Crew. “ZESCO United Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of George Lwandamina as club head coach, taking over from Mumamba Numba.

Lwandamina has signed a three-year deal that will see him at ZESCO United until 2025 with an option to extend.” Before his appointment, Lwandamina was head coach of Zambian Super League side Kabwe Warriors. Announcing the appointment, ZESCO United Chairman Maxwell Saya said:

“Lwandamina is one of the best coaches to grace the Zambian game both at the national and international level. He has a proven track record which can be traced back to his time at ZESCO United where he delivered four league titles and the 2016 CAF champions league semi-final finish.

“His vast managerial experience both at domestic and international level makes him the right man to lift the club from its current state.” Lwandamina is ZESCO United’s most successful coach thus far, winning four league titles during his two stints.

The former Zambia National Team head coach won the league title in 2014 and 2015 after joining ZESCO United from Red Arrows in February 2014, adding back-to-back titles in 2017 and 2018 in his second spell.
