After the expiry of the 7 days apology demand letter period, our Lawyers yesterday sued Mr Chitambala Mwewa in the High Court of Zambia for his defamatory and malicious remarks on Miles Sampa. He is expected to prove or substantiate his various libelous social media posts & utterances. We have asked the court that if he fails to prove and found guilty of defamation, may they award us damages of K100M + a formal apology.
Incidentally the first and last time I sued for defamation was 14 years ago when I pursued & travelled to Boston Massachusetts USA to locate the address of the then social media blog called Kachepa. I hired lawyers there & sued. The owner of Kachepa appeared in court and she failed to prove the allegation made then. I was awarded damages of $100,000 but todate I am yet to recover the money plus interest.
We look forward to a day in Court with Mr Mwewa who has made it his professional day job to spread malicious and defamatory statements on Miles B. Sampa.
