Africa-Press – Zambia. The Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) a huge number of mining firms did not pay royalties in 2021. ZRA Commissioner General Dingani Banda says out of 2416 mining companies registered in their system and who are actively exporting minerals, only 183 paid royalties during the period in question.
He disclosed this in Chongwe today where the Zambia National Service (ZNS) intercepted a truck laden with precious stones. The truck was enroute to Chanida border.
Banda said an audit revealed that 910 firms were exporting minerals but didn’t declare royalties. Meanwhile, ZNS Commissioner General Maliti Solochi said the Service will work hand in hand with other wings of government to stop mineral leakages.
