Africa-Press – Zambia. A Governance Activist Sam Zulu has commended President Hakainde Hichilema’s efforts to ensure that law and order is restored in public places such as markets and bus stations.
Mr. Zulu has noted that the President’s desire in his pronouncements is to raise morality levels in the leaders especially those holding public office and has called on Zambians to fully support him in order achieve this noble agenda.
He however says maintaining law and order in public institutions will not only serve to make a peaceful environment but help in protecting the interest of the Zambian people.
And the Civil Society Constitution Agenda -CISCA- Chairperson Judith Mulenga says while CISCA commends the President for pronouncing himself clearly on the issue, the organization is urging UPND members, party and government officials to pull in the same direction as the President in reversing evils and lawlessness perpetuated by the previous administration.
She says there is need for cohesion among senior leaders of the UPND government as it is a risky situation if not properly addressed that may negatively affect the party.
During a Press Conference held last week President Hakainde Hichilema reiterated his strong stance against caderism in malawlessness exhibited by the Patriotic Front regime in the past ten years.
