Africa-Press – Zambia. Approximately 300 young people from all the islands and the diaspora will gather in Praia on Thursday and Friday for the 2025 edition of the National Youth Forum, an initiative of the Institute of Sport and Youth.
The event, which will take place at the TechPark facilities under the motto “Present Challenges and Building the Future of Young People,” aims to outline priorities and strategic proposals for the future of Cape Verde.
According to a statement from the organization sent to Inforpress, the forum aims to continue the participatory and decentralized approach to public policies, adopted after regional forums were held on all the islands of the archipelago.
It will also serve as a privileged space for dialogue, with the presence of experts, public institutions, and international partners, in addition to the young delegates.
The meeting’s agenda includes thematic panels, workshops, technical visits, a job fair, cultural and sporting events, as well as a “youth parliament” dedicated to employment and entrepreneurship issues. Among the central topics under discussion will be tourism and food security, Cape Verde’s economic relations with Africa, as well as public policies on employability, innovation, and youth entrepreneurship.
The Institute of Sport and Youth (IDJ) hopes that the National Youth Forum 2025 will fulfill its objective of strengthening the civic and political participation of youth, stimulating innovative and sustainable projects, promoting cooperation networks, and valuing the cultural and territorial diversity of the country’s youth.
The organization emphasizes that the event’s conclusions will directly contribute to the “continuous strengthening of public youth policies,” helping to build solutions aligned with the aspirations of the new Cape Verdean generations.
