Africa-Press – Zambia. The Zambia Super League may soon have an official match ball following the start of a trial run of a proposed official Kopa Match ball. The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) confirmed the development in a statement accessed by the ZamFoot Crew.

“The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) is running a trial run with a proposed official match ball for the Zambian league.

FAZ General Secretary Adrian Kashala says the proposed match ball pilot project is FIFA approved and would be given to clubs for a trial run before fully rolling it out.”

“We are moving with modern trends of having a match ball for our league. Some top leagues in the world have an official match ball and we are moving in that direction as well,” Kashala told FAZ Media.

“The all-weather high speed rubber ball meets the FIFA standard and will be given to all clubs in the interim for them to familiarize themselves with it.”

Kashala says FAZ will not rush into introducing the ball before all the necessary steps have been taken to ensure there is an even playing field. All the Super League and National Division One clubs will have an opportunity to test the ball in the first phase of the trial run.
