Africa-Press – Zambia. The Zambia Police in Kafue have denied permission to the United Kwacha Alliance (UKA) to hold a public rally.
Kafue Police Station Officer-in-Charge R. Chiwila said the notice to hold a public rally at Matanda Grounds in Zambia Compound was rejected and the event will not be allowed to take place due to allegedly security concerns.
Last week, Golden Party President, Jackson Silavwe and NDC President, Saboi Imboela informed the police that the Alliance would be holding a public rally in Kafue.
Since August 2021, members of the Opposition have been denied any opportunities to hold public meetings, gatherings or public rallies in clear violation of their constitutional rights to assemble, associate and mobilise their members.
