Africa-Press – Zambia. The Zambia Consumers Association-ZACA- is anticipating a reduction in the fuel pump prices in the next 14 days following a continuous appreciation of the kwacha against convertible currencies.
ZACA Executive Secretary Juba Sakala has told Phoenix News in an interview that consumers should however not put their hopes high for prices of the commodity to drop immediately.
He adds that once the fuel prices reduce, it will have a little impact on ordinary citizens as the price of commodities takes time to reduce if there is no stability of the currency.
The kwacha has been steadily gaining its strength against the world’s major convertible currencies which the bank of Zambia attributed to various factors such as an improved copper price on the international market.
