Africa-Press – Zambia. He wrote: Today at State House, we held the annual interactive session of the diplomatic corps accredited to Zambia, in our continued efforts to collectively review various challenges and successes of the previous year.
We seized the occasion to thank the diplomatic community and other international organisations for taking keen interest in our elections through the deployment of observer missions and other support rendered during the period.
To that effect, we reaffirmed our commitment to the tenets of democracy and good governance and further pledged to the transformation of our struggling economy into a thriving one, powered by enterprise, manufacturing, trade and investment. We reiterated our view that foreign policy will have a greater emphasis on economic diplomacy, on the platform of peace, security and stability.
We called upon their Excellencies to facilitate investment and linkages that will be mutually beneficial to us all. We also extended our gratitude to our bilateral cooperating partners that have rendered budgetary support, as we launch our 8th Development Plan, and restated our commitment to strive for a transparent and accountable use of public resources, with zero tolerance on corruption.
