Africa-Press – Zambia. MTN Super League defending, Red Arrows have moved to second place on the log following a 2-1 win over Buildcon in a rescheduled week five encounter. With Chisi Mbewe out in Eswatini with the Zambia U-20 national at the TotalEnergies U20 AFCON Egypt 2023 | COSAFA Qualifier, Oswald Mutapa took charge of the team.

Mutapa made five changes to the team that drew 1-1 with the Bankers, Sensational Zanaco over the weekend. Charles Kalumba, Chilimina Brian, Makwekwe Ruddy Kupa, Joseph Phiri, and Conlyde Luchanga came in for Ken Mumba, Benedict Chepeshi, Richard Daka, Edward Tembo, and James Chamanga.

The match started slow but the hosts took the lead just after a quarter of an hour as Goerge Chaloba beat Mulenga Zimba with a low powerful shot following some fine work from Conlyde Luchanga.

Buildcon then started pushing for an equalizer but could only level matters in additional time of the first stanza, Lionel Bong with a beautiful curler from the edge of the box.

Mutapa made changes at the start of the second half introducing Edward Tembo and George Mandu for Paul Katema and Chaloba. Later on, Mutapa brought on Fred Tsoutra Tshimenga and James Chamanga for Luchanga and Banda.

With the game heading for a draw, It was Chamanga who found the winner four minutes to time heading in from close range. Tshimenga with a beautiful cross which was headed back in at the far post by Joseph Phiri for the 2012 AFCON winner to sneak in a low header beating Zimba at the near post.

The win takes the Airmen to second place on the table with 11 points from six games played so far Meanwhile Buildcon remains bottom of the table with just a single point.
