Africa-Press – Zambia. Good morning fellow citizens. Bally needs to spend more time at home and guide his ministers until they get on their feet. Otherwise there is too much confusion and disorganization in Government so far:
08hrs: ZESCO increases tariffs for new connections and meter separation.
10hrs: ERB says ZESCO did not get approval and therefore the increment is null and void.
12hrs: Minister of Energy Peter Kapala, who presides over both ZESCO and ERB says ZESCO did obtain clearance from ERB and therefore the increment was valid.
14hrs: Minister of Energy Peter Kapala makes a u-turn and says ZESCO did not obtain clearance from ERB and therefore the increment is null and void. The above is only a tip of the total confusion which came to the public domain. What about that other confusion which we don’t know about?
Can such a disorganized government deliver development for its people? Any new organization requires adequate direction and guidance by its leader to the various staff on the new ways of doing things. However, Bally is unable to give that direction and guidance to his new dawn administration because he is always in the air flying to somewhere.
It is in Bally’s best interests for him to sit down ( in Raphael Nakachinda’s voice) and run his new dawn administration. It is him who has the blueprints of how his Government must function, let him take time to share that vision with his people. Otherwise he is doomed to fail. And when he fails, it will mean that Zambia would have failed too. Take heed Mr Man.
