Africa-Press – Zambia. The report on social media that the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) threatens to seize the United Church of Zambia (UCZ) Synod Offices located at number 8, Mosi-oa-Tunya Road, Woodlands is extremely sad and heartbreaking.
This witch-hunting, selective and vindictive fight against Corruption has no integrity and is tantamount to abuse of power and authority. Zambia, a nation of laws is a Constitutional Democracy and a Christian nation where God is supreme and the foundation is laid on righteousness and justice.
God Almighty reigns supreme through the body of Jesus Christ and that is the Church. Therefore , wanton attack on the church is playing with fire and is bound to attract curses. The agony and horror of operating under a curse cannot be contemplated.
ACC is advised not to be drunk with power and stray in dangerous waters. ACC please stop persecuting the church through witch-hunting. Stop also persecuting innocent people who have worked hard to own property.
Who said owning property is only a preserve of the select few? During the past few days Hon Harry Kalaba and Ambassador Emmanuel Mwamba have been visited by ACC. Intimidation and instilling fear in innocent people and the church will surely back-fire.
As a nation which respects national values and Principles we expect integrity and morality in the way the ACC carries out its mandate. UCZ is a very big church in our nation and is endowed with rich resources and assets country- wide. ACC is advised to respect the rule of law and the rights of people and also to use the wisdom of Solomon of the bible in dealing with God’s anointed church.
