Africa-Press – Zambia. Patriotic Front- PF Chinsali Member of Parliament Hon. Kalalwe Mukosa has accused the new dawn administration of concealing the total value of the toll fee which the contractor will collect from Zambia.
He said the cost the government attributed to the cost of the ndola duo courage way is not the actual cost. He indicated that the government has illegally transferred the ownership of the Ndola Lusaka duo carriage to the contractor who will now begin to collect the proceeds from the toll gates for 25 years.
He observed that there are alot of questionable effects the decision the government has attached to the construction of the Ndola Lusaka carriage ways. He said government was misleading the public and it’s general citizenry, that cost of the road was $500 to $600 dollars they published.
“That’s not the true cost of the road, the true contract is the value of the toll fees that will be collected by the contractor. Those toll fees acrew to the contractor over a period of 25 years.
That is the contact sum of this project, that $600 fee you’re seeing that’s the cost of the road to the contractor from the government. What the government will pay in total is the money that government will pay on a day to day basis for 25 years.”
He challenged journalist to found out from the minister of Finance or Infrastructure how much the contractor would Acrew from the toll fees over a period of 25 years. “You’ll find the exact value of the cost of the road to the government,” he said.
