Senior Chief Mushota of the Chishinga speaking people of Kawambwa district, Luapula Province says Government should focus on working to better the lives of people.
Speaking when Pambashe member of parliament Hon. Ronald Chitotela paid a courtesy call on him at his palace, Senior Chief Mushota said political witchhunt is not necessary at the moment. He said elections are over and it’s time for the Goverment to deliver instead of focusing on persecuting political opponents.
” I was to listening to Police Inspector General Remmy Kajoba who said they will start revisiting political cases that happened as far as 2015. I don’t think this is necessary. The power of the people is the vote and once elections are over we move on, alot happens during election period and this normal,” Senior Chief Mushota said.
” This selective witchhunt going on in the country is not necessary. This is the time to work and deliver to the aspirations of the people instead of persecuting political opponents. President Lungu freely handed over power that should the spirit that we should all embrace,” he said.
And Pambashe member of parliament Hon Ronad Chitotela said he remains strong and resolute despite going through political persecution. He said he will continue siding with the people and has no intentions of abandoning them. Hon. Chitotela said it is laughable that the State chose to implicate him in a matter he was not involved in.
