Africa-Press – Zambia. Unemployed Doctors protest again UNEMPLOYED doctors in Lusaka have again staged a protest in a bid to press government to offer them jobs. The agitated doctors who gathered at Ministry of Health headquarters told diamond news that government’s silence on their concerns is worrying.
Unemployed doctors Chairperson Dr. Wallace Ndumba also expressed concern that police have denied them permission to match to state house, to petition president Hakainde Hichilema.
He explains that the 800 doctors he is representing, want the head of state to give a clear roadmap on the recruitment of the 11,200 health workers, announced in the 2022 national budget.
Last week, Ministry of Health Permanent Secretary For Technical Services, Professor Lackson Kasonka told protesting doctors that the recruitment process was being handled in a systematic manner that will go in tandem with payroll space
