Africa-Press – Zambia. A Chingola well-known United Party for National Development (UPND) cadre, Edward Kapungwe last night stormed Lulamba Police Station in Chingola and demanded the immediate release of his relatives who were detained for assault.
The two policemen who were on duty refused to submit to his unlawfull orders. Kapungwe then produced a pistol and threatened to shoot the officers. The officers fled for safety and called for reinforcement from Chiwempala Police station.
The reinforcement from Chiwempala arrived and disarmed the cadre. Kapungwe has since been detained at Chiwempala police station in Chingola with a charge of threatening violence.
