Africa-Press – Zambia. says they have gone ahead and sold Zambia’s national and cultural values, and the very soul of the nation Lusaka, Wednesday, March 8, 2023 ( Smart Eagles) UPND government has sold our national values, says PF Media Director Antonio Mourinho Mwanza following Sistah Sistah protests.
Speaking when he featured on UNZA Radio yesterday, Mr Mwanza slammed the government of “angels” for letting “perverts” protest for the recognition of the abominable “rights” in a Christian Nation. He wondered why the police even accorded the said protesters permit, escort and protection.
“First of all, this government has not only sold our mineral rights and our birth rights. They have gone ahead and sold our national values, our cultural values, and they have sold the soul of this country. I can’t believe that barely weeks after the President addressed the nation on the values and principles of this country, he could allow a situation where a group of perverts would take over our streets with police permission and police escort, take over our streets and start hailing out insults and doing all sorts of despicable things and the President and his government allowed that, it’s unbelievable,” he said.
“First of all, let me very categorical. It must be made very clear that the police, the Zambia Police gave permission to those protesters. The police provided escort and protection to those who were protesting. You can see that this was endorsed and this was given a go ahead by the highest authority. It was given authority by the highest authority. If it was not given authority, how come the police gave them authority? How come the police gave them protection if it didn’t come from that level?”
Mr Mwanza revealed that he UPND belongs to the liberal democrats. “…they belong to an institution run by the liberal democrats. This institution, one of the core values of this institution is to advocate the said rights and UPND is a member of that institution. This issue was brought into Parliament by our late gallant soldier, Tutwa Ngulube (MHSRIP), he challenged ba Jack Mwimbu over the membership of the UPND to this liberal institution,” he said.
“So UPND as a political party belongs to an institution that tolerates, embraces and promotes [email protected] rights. UPND as a political party is pro gray right party, this must be put in black and white. This was the reason why the first thing they did was to remove the ministry of religious affairs and national values because it works against their values and belief in lesbian and gay rights. So they had to scrap it off.”
And Mr Mwanza said the UPND government does not love anything to do with the church. He reminded Zambians how the UPND while in government used to “run away” from national prayers.
“And if you look at the UPND even when they were in UPND, nkhani ya church sibaikonda. Every time we asked ba UPND kubwela kumapemphelo pa 18 October benzothaba. Even just recently, on 18 October, President Sammy Hichilema anathaba kumapemphelo. First it was Lusaka July…and remember what the UPND did to Dr Brian Sampa when he went to protest abominable rights. The police moved in,” he said.
“These that were protesting for these rights, instead of the police arresting them, they escorted them. Instead of arresting them, they were protecting them. And they have released a statement. Ba Chushi, sometimes niku nkhala chabe, mwankhala chabe kunyumba, nga mulibe vochita, just sit, munawina kudala there is no loss. She says government doesn’t promote such rights. Give us a break, if you don’t promote them, why did police arrest Dr Sampa over his protest.”
