Africa-Press – Zambia. We fooled ourselves by supporting UPND 30 Headmen in Nyampande village in Lusangazi district have said that they fooled themselves by supporting the UPND in this year’s elections.
The Headmen said they thought changing Government will help in improving their welfare when in fact not. The Headmen said President Edgar Lungu had the heart for people and they regret voting him out.
They said this today when they had a meeting with Patriotic Front (PF) Member of the Central Committee in charge of Information and Publicity Rapheal Nakachinda.
The Headmen said the UPND promised heaven and earth which is opposite from what is happening now. “We were taken by issues of free education, increasing prices of maize and now our
maize is going to waste, they said they will give 12 bags of fertiliser through FISP. We were enticed with many promises. Tell President Lungu that we are very sorry
for our action,” they said. Headmen further said they pray that 2026 come as soon as possible to bring back the PF. They have vowed to campaign for PF Council Chairperson candidate Patrick Banda in order to see development in the area. They said they will not make a mistake this time around to vote for UPND candidate because nothing tangible will come out.
