Arguably, the number of fatalities has reached unprecedented levels requiring intervention by way of probing and inquiring on the circumstances leading to such increased numbers of fatalities.
The need to inquire and make such recommendation is imperative. The need to further examine and identify the causes and make such recommendations as is necessary on how to reduce on the rising numbers of carnage on the Zambian roads is absolutely important. Undeniably at the centre of all these accidents are mostly foreign trucks and a few notable local ones.
It might be of great benefit for government and indeed to the general public for a commission of inquiry to be constituted and inquire into the circumstances that are particularly causing these unprecedented accidents and come up with actionable recommendations that will prompt the Police and the appropriate road agency (Ratsa) to take appropriate corrective action.
