Africa-Press – Zambia. ZESCO Ndola Girls, Green Buffaloes and Red Arrows recorded wins on Wednesday as the Women’s Super Division continues to shape up. The top tier of Women’s Football entered week 12 of action with seven games on the cards after Elite Ladies vs Police Dove Queens and Trident Queens clash with BUSA Queens were postponed to a later date.
The early season trend setters, ZESCO Ndola Girls recorded their 12th win of the season. Mufulira Wanderers Queens recorded their second win of the season while Red Arrows returned to winning ways.
Log leaders, ZESCO Ndola Girls edged National Assembly 1-0 thanks to a lone goal by Illess Phiri. In Mufulira, Wanderers Queens recorded an important win. Mapalo Kapindula scored a brace to lead the hosts to a 3-1 win over Green Eagles Women.
At Arakan Barracks, Defending Champions, Green Buffaloes Women’s Football Club handed Play It Forward their seven loss of the season. Goals from Hellen Chanda, Ireen ‘Xavi’ Lungu and Natasha Nanyangwe gave the Charles Haalubono coached side a comfortable win.
At Edwin Imboela Stadium, Red Arrows dusted themselves off from their loss to ZESCO Ndola Girls edging Nkwazi Queens 1-0. Mary Mambwe’s goal was the difference. Zanaco Ladies and YASA Queens edged ZISD Queens and Prison Leopards Queens respectively.
