Withdrawal Of Security From DPP’s Residence Is Writing On Wall Its Game-over

Africa-Press – Zambia. I understand, from the media that the State security at DPP Lilian Suyuni’s residence has been withdrawn. This is a harbinger that its game-over for her. Embarrassing moments are around the corner. Nonetheless, its not yet too late to heed to my repeated advice to resign and leave the stage honorably, when a few are still clapping for her.

As I indicated in my previous posts, she does not require a waiver from the President to testify before a lawfully constituted tribunal like a court of law; parliamentary committee; commission of inquiry; JCC; etc.

Insisting to get the President to give her the perceived waiver is like pushing an open door. So, it is very, very unlikely that the President will assist her to push an already open door. Most likely, the President will not respond to her.

If JCC has not already decided on her fate by now, and written to the President to fire her, which is signalled by the withdrawal of State security from her residence, the next appropriate step for the President is to invoke Article 181 of the Constitution which stipulates as follows:

“Where the Director of Public Prosecutions is absent from Zambia or is unable to perform the functions of office due to illness or other cause, the President shall appoint a person qualified to perform the functions of Director of Public Prosecutions to perform those functions until that appointment is revoked or until the Director of Public Prosecutions returns to office.” Watch the space!
