Africa-Press – Zambia. ZNBC will, on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, broadcast live Constitutional Court proceedings on the eligibility case of former President, EDGAR LUNGU.

The court proceedings, which will start at 09 hours, will be broadcast on TV 1, Radio 1, 2, and 4, with a live stream, available on the ZNBC Today Facebook page.

ZNBC Head Corporate Affairs, YVETTE CHANDA has confirmed in a statement, saying this will be the first time that the Judiciary will have allowed ZNBC cameras into the courtroom to cover a judgment, marking a historical development.

Mrs. CHANDA has stated that the development highlights the judiciary’s commitment to openness and accountability while maintaining the integrity of the judicial process.

She explained that the judiciary’s approval for ZNBC’s live coverage also underscores the broadcaster’s critical role in providing the public with access to information on significant national matters.

Mrs. CHANDA said the development is expected to set a precedent for greater transparency in Zambia’s legal system, ensuring citizens can follow proceedings of national importance directly.
